Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top frozen treat spots in Milwaukee, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to meet your needs.

1. Leon's Frozen Custard

Topping the list is Leon's Frozen Custard. Located at 3131 S. 27th St. in Southgate, the spot to score ice cream and frozen yogurt and more is the highest rated frozen treat spot in Milwaukee, boasting 4.5 stars out of 362 reviews on Yelp.

"Leon's has been serving up frozen custard on South 27th Street for decades," said Yelper Jerry M. "The iconic structure has been the setting for numerous photo shoots, you've probably seen posters of 50s cars parked around the stand with all its neon shining in all its glorious colors."

2. Purple Door Ice Cream

Next up is Walker's Point's Purple Door Ice Cream, situated at 205 S. Second St. With 4.5 stars out of 338 reviews on Yelp, the spot to score ice cream and frozen yogurt has proven to be a local favorite.

"I am obsessed with this place," said Megan S. "There is no other business that does ice cream like Purple Door. No one. They make real ice cream here, so if you prefer soft-serve or custard, this place isn't for you."

3. Honeydip Donuts

Clayton Crest's Honeydip Donuts, located at 5306 S. 27th St., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the spot to score doughnuts, coffee and tea and ice cream and frozen yogurt 4.5 stars out of 42 reviews.

"Honeydip Donuts has been serving up sweet doughnut deliciousness to the doughnut loving masses in Milwaukee since 1975," wrote Yelper Ophelia M. "Which, if you're doing the math, is a long dang time."

4. Batches

5. Yo Factory

And then there's Yo Factory, a Lower East Side favorite with four stars out of 88 reviews. Stop by 2203 N. Farwell Ave. to hit up the spot to score ice cream and frozen yogurt, desserts and juice and smoothies next time you're in the mood.

"Holy yum," said Yelper Alison P. "When I lived on the east side my husband and I would come here weekly! I wish they opened another location closer to our house in bay view. The flavors are always changing and always amazing."
