Milwaukee gym owner hoping to see spike in business as people make New Year’s resolutions
Gyms are one of the businesses hit hard during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, owners are hoping to see a spike in business as people make New Year’s resolutions.
“Every day we are seeing new people walk in the doors,” Shred 415 East Side owner Margaux Chandler said. “I will say our new specials, our years specials are more aggressive than we’ve ever done in the past.”
Members Renee Dowdy believes many people are ready to head back to the gym.
“It’s definitely something I’m hearing from my friends and colleagues is that I think folks are kind of navigating,” she said. “It seems like a good opportunity that 2021 gives us an opportunity to recalibrate.”
Chandler said her gym is following COVID-19 protocols like wearing masks and capping classes at 50 percent.
“It’s always important to prioritize our emotional and our physical health and I think it’s moreso important in a pandemic,” Chandler said.
Shred415 also livestreams classes for those not ready to be in-person.
