The time has come to get your last trip to Snack Boys, 814 S. 2nd St., in Walker's Point before it close brieflys to make its big move to the East Side.

In fact, with construction well underway, the boys have decided that the current Walker's Point location will be open through Sunday, March 15. Fans should definitely keep an eye on Snack Boys' social media to keep tabs on their closing weekend festivities, which are rumored to be pretty lit.

The city will need to live without their Snack Boys fix for a few days. However, the plan thereafter is to tote Burt Reynolds and pink neon signs across town and host a grand opening in the new East Side digs at 2028 E. North Ave. on Thursday, March 19.

Bigger. Better. Snack Boys.

As for what folks can expect from the new space, co-owner John Revord says Snack Boys vibe has always embraced a mix of 70s and 80s basement chic and vintage Miami.

"The new space will be way more vintage Miami," he says. Think lush greens… tropical, fun drinks … and Burt's mustache and pink neon to round things out."

To ensure the right look and feel, they employed local artist Kristina Rolander to assist with setting the mood. "The mural really sets the tone for the look we're going for," Revord says.

And while ambiance is important, one of the major advantages of the move, says Revord, is the amount of space they will have to execute a bigger, better menu.

"The changes will be notable," he says. "Popular menu items will stay, but from there our offerings are going to see a lot of growth."

The bar, on the other hand, will continue to offer signature resort-style boat drinks, wine and brews. But tap beer will also be added to the mix.

In terms of capacity, the new location will be comparable in size. Revord figures they'll gain ten or 15 additional seats. But in the summer, with the activation of the building's dual patios, there will be plenty of space for warm weather antics.

In the meantime, get over to Snack Boys and enjoy a last Walker's Point hurrah. They're open Sunday through Thursday from 6 to 11 p.m., Friday from 6 p.m. to midnight and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.

During closing weekend (March 13-15), Snack Boys will be open in Walker's Point on Friday and Saturday from 4:20 p.m. to 1 a.m. (bar open until close) and Sunday from 6 to 11 p.m.
