THIS BITES: SNACK BOYS’ UPCOMING MOVE TO THE EAST SIDE, AND THE MILWAUKEE FILM FEST’S FOOD FLICKS

It’s time for the weekly Ann-Tarik chat known as This Bites, on 88Nine Radio Milwaukee. If you’ve been watching the East North Avenue area start to rebuild after a bunch of business closings, you know there’s now a food hall called Crossroads Collective and a brewery called Hacienda. And though I don’t have an exact date, the boys from Snack Boys Snack Bar in Walker’s Point are planning to move up to the old Hotel Foster space near Whole Foods Market. It means a change to their current spot on South Second Street. We talk more about that.

Next month (Oct. 17-31) is the Milwaukee Film Festival and one of the sections within the lineup is the Film Feast, which features movies with a culinary focus. Among them is The Good, the Bad, the Hungry, which I had the chance to see this week. It’s about the world of competitive eating and the rivalry between Takeru Kobayashi and Joey Chestnut. You’ll hear about that and some of the other films in the lineup.
