THE WISKULLSKIN STORY

The East Side has a long history of DIYers (Do It Yourselfers), artists and crafters launching businesses in the neighborhood. Here's one of those stories: The Wiskullsin Story.
LIVE WHERE IT’S ALL WITHIN REACH

LIVE WHERE IT’S ALL WITHIN REACH

Now is the time to grab one of the brand new East Side pads before someone else swoops in and steals your view. Where else can you ditch the car and have entertainment, lakefront/river trails and daily services all within view of your apartment? There is an energy to the East Side that cannot be matched anywhere else in Milwaukee, and you'll find that living right in the middle of it will invigorate you.
THE EVOLVING ART SHELTER

THE EVOLVING ART SHELTER

We’ve got something to add to your ‘art stops’ list but you won’t need to squeeze it into the packed schedule of Gallery Night/Day. In fact, you should visit when it’s raining.

The evolving art piece is simply known as The East Side’s signature bus shelter with adjoining business shelter on Oakland and North Avenue. It’s easy to miss now that it’s set against the backdrop of looming new development projects, most recently the new 4-story mixed-use building right across the street. Mini donuts are a staple on the corner, with the latest operator Chubby's Drive Thru adding patio seating.
KEEPING THE EAST SIDE CLEAN

KEEPING THE EAST SIDE CLEAN

There’s a familiar face back on the streets of the East Side, keeping the area litter-free and friendly.

The East Side Business Improvement District has hired Henry Brown to maintain a clean & friendly neighborhood. Henry formerly worked for Riverworks and was at one time assigned to the East Side BID as part of a litter /street maintenance contract with the organization. This time Henry has launched his own business and is working exclusively on the East Side. He’ll not only clean-up in front of businesses but makes rounds in the immediate neighborhood after busy weekends.
