The coronavirus pandemic has changed our everyday life, but it doesn't need to change who we are. So, in addition to our ongoing coverage of the coronavirus, OnMilwaukee will continue to report on cool, fun, inspiring and strange stories from our city and beyond. Stay safe, stay healthy, stay informed and stay joyful. We're all in this together. #InThisTogetherMKE

Local restaurants operate on tight margins on an everyday basis, let alone during an ever-evolving global pandemic like coronavirus (COVID-19). It's part of the reason why an increasing number of restaurants – even those who've never offered carry-out and delivery before – have begun offering take-out, delivery and curbside meal options.

Efforts have redoubled since Milwaukee County announced a comprehensive shut-down for bars and restaurants in Milwaukee (and 10 municipal counties) on March 16. The mandate allows restaurants to remain open for carry-out and curbside pick-up services only until further notice. Liquor, beer and wine service is also allowed for carry-out.

Limiting the gathering of groups assists in the fight to slow the spread of COVID-19 through social distancing, while carry-out, curbside and delivery options allow restaurants to keep their businesses afloat at the most base level while doing what they do best: nourishing their communities with delicious food.

Please consider supporting these restaurants and others who continue to offer carry-out and delivery services. Together we can raise one another up and make a difference, one meal at a time.

Note: Carry-out and delivery hours may vary from a restaurant's "normal" business hours. Please call the restaurants directly with questions. As always, be kind and tip well. For more ways to support bars and restaurants during these tumultuous times, click here.
