Available grants to help support local business and property owners

Safety & Security Grant

Available for business or property improvements which reduce crime, prevent theft/vandalism or improve the perceived safety.

Property Improvement examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Cameras
  • Alarms
  • Detection Devices
  • Doors and lighting designed to guard against safety/security hazards

Marketing & Promotion Grant

Available for any social media, print, radio, television, or other marketing costs associated with promoting your business.

Project examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, other social media boosts and advertising
  • Signage used to inform customers about offerings, hours, specials, etc.
  • Traditional print, radio and television advertising
  • Printing costs associated with brochures, coupons, mailers, booklets, etc.
  • Mailing costs associated with direct marketing campaign

Photo & Video Website Grant

Available for any use of photography and/or video marketing costs associated with helping showcase your business.

Project examples include, but are not limited to:

  • A professional photoshoot at your business to generate high- quality visual assets including photo and video content
  • A gallery of high-resolution, professional photography for you to use to promote your business on your website, social media, and other marketing materials, and to use to promote your business on the BID’s new website, where each BID business will have its own custom, designated landing page (click here to view example)
  • Video content including shorter clips and longer-form storytelling to showcase your business for use across multiple channels

Commercial Revitalization Grant Programs Provided by the City

Commercial Revitalization Grants provide financial and business assistance to businesses and commercial property owners interested in renovating their buildings.
The program was established by the City of Milwaukee, Department of City Development to improve and enhance the physical appearance of commercial buildings in the City's Commercial Corridors.
