Door County Brewing Co. is growing its Hacienda Beer Co. brand to Milwaukee with a taproom and kitchen slated to open on the city’s east side in May of 2019.

Three additional vendors have been announced for Crossroads Collective, the new food hall slated to open later this month or early next month on Milwaukee’s East Side. The concept is being developed in the former Oriental Drugs building, located at 2238 N. Farwell Ave., in a 7,000-square-foot space that previously housed Rosati’s Pizza. It will feature eight “micro-restaurants.”

The brewery will take over 6,000 square feet of the former G-Daddy’s BBC and Hotel Foster building complex, located at 2012-2028 E. North Ave., to open a 125-seat taproom, bar and kitchen by May 2019. The venue will be located at 2018 E. North Ave. on the ground floor.

Hacienda is a craft brewery created about a year ago by the owners of Door County Brewing Co. LLC to make a separate line of more experimental beers such as hoppy ales and stouts. Hacienda’s Milwaukee taproom will open on Memorial Day weekend 2019 with 125 seats, according to a Friday announcement. Its beers are made in a 15-barrel brew house in Baileys Harbor.

The 2018 Milwaukee Film Festival had 78,510 attendees, a 6 percent drop from 84,072 last year. But at the same time, the film festival's parent organization reported gains in membership and fundraising.

Food truck and restaurant Falafel Guys, the maker of falafel, chicken shawarma sandwiches and more, will open another location — this one on the east side, in the Crossroads Collective food hall, due to open in November.

Two stalls remain available at Crossroads Collective as the food hall nears its opening. The venue is a project by Tim Gokhman, director of New Land Enterprises in Milwaukee. Gokhman said this week that his team is “racing towards the finish line” as he prepares to soon announce an opening date.
